Atima Omara is an award-winning political strategist, leader, advocate, writer and speaker who has worked at the intersection of electoral politics and the progressive movement. A former campaign staffer, political organizer, nonprofit executive, and candidate for public and political party office herself, Atima has spent over 15 years working as staff for Democratic federal, state and local political campaigns across the country as well as elected officials. She has also worked for or led local, state and national campaigns and organizations that focused on reproductive rights and justice, labor, voting rights, disability rights, and criminal justice reform.

She is the founder and president of Omara Strategy Group — a political and advocacy consulting firm for progressive candidates, organizations, and causes providing training, coaching, and voter engagement services with a focus on women, people of color, LGBTQ+, disabled folks and others from historically underrepresented communities in the political process She focuses on helping clients create winning political campaigns and advocacy campaigns that center these communities.
