1 in 4 U.S. adults have a disability, but many political campaigns fall short when it comes to accessibility and disability inclusion. Join Disability Victory Co-Founders Neal Carter and Sarah Blahovec for this one-hour introduction to accessibility and inclusion for campaigns and organizations. During this presentation, you will learn about:

  • Disability definitions and barriers to political participation

  • Understanding, recognizing, and dismantling ableism

  • Creating a disability-inclusive 

  • Basics of obligations and workplace accommodations

  • Making field organizing accessible

Bring your questions about disability inclusion and learn how to make your campaigns more welcoming in 2026 and beyond.

About Our Trainers

Neal Carter is the Co-Founder, President, and Director of Disability Victory, and Founder and Principal of Nu View Consulting LLC. Neal has been spearheading political outreach operations in campaigns since 2002. Neal is one of the foremost voices in field operations, campaign strategy, and candidate training in the United States. He has worked in campaign management on the federal, state, and local levels throughout the United States. Under Neal’s leadership, Nu View Consulting has elected world leaders, trained future elected officials, and successfully passed progressive policy protecting the most marginalized communities.

Sarah Blahovec is Co-Founder and former President and Co-Director of Disability Victory, and a disability civic engagement subject matter expert. She works with organizations to address the barriers to voting and running for office for the 1 in 4 Americans who have a disability and has worked with organizations including The Carter Center’s Democracy Program, the American Association of People with Disabilities, the Democratic National Committee, and the Center for Civic Design. She is the former Voting Rights and Civic Engagement Director for the National Council on Independent Living, where she advocated for greater accessibility in elections and addressed barriers to running for office for people with disabilities.
